James Blake is set to release his CYMK e.p on R&S Records at the end of May on digital and 12".
He uses his electronics for nothing else but to squeeze feeling and tension out of the music that without such techniques would be unlikely possible, you get the impression that the means to produce the creative ends were arrived at by a purely organic process, that his tools of creation are no more than what is necessary to express his vision. Keys and percussion are packed in a pressure tight bottle that is constantly verging on exploding, vocals are cut short like words that never got to be said before it was too late, rhythms fall over one another as if they were the chance sequence of sounds made by people stumbling together down the street.
